a short film directed by ethan
We shot this brand film for a no-dig market garden in Suffolk across 2 days, and the most important thing for me was to approach it as freely as I could.
The whole idea behind a ‘no-dig’ farm is to leave behind the traditional methods of farming, and work in a far more wild and unorthodox way, and I really wanted to emulate that spirit as much as possible in the film.
The majority of the film is shot on a super wide vintage lens, which has a very characterful look that lends itself nicely to Cam’s natural and rustic way of life. It also encouraged me to get up close and personal with the plants, wildlife, and people on the farm, which I hope conveys the closeness/intimacy to nature that I felt while on the farm.
